Christmas Wishes

Our Christmas production started with years 3 and 4 as evacuees in WWII sending letters to their mums for Xmas whilst singing 'We'll meet again'.

It continued with a nativity story performed by K S 1 pupils in conjunction with Years 5 and 6: who portrayed the visits of the Shepherds, Angels and the Three Kings to the crib.

All of the audience expressed their enjoyment and commented on the beautiful singing, dancing and the enthusiasm of all the children taking part.

We would like to to say a big thank you to all the adults involved and especially the Parents and Friends Association [P. A. F. A] for their help and support on the night.

School's top show

I was lucky enough to go to Freda Gardham School's Christmas Wishes show in rye last week.

This was a great entertainment in which every class took part and which showed the Christmas story from all different aspects and angles {and angels!}

It would not be fair to single out any group - they were all good - but the World War II evacuees tugged at my heart because I had been one myself.

Congratulations to the head teacher and staff who had everybody so well trained and organised; the children who acted, danced and sang beautifully; whoever wrote the script and produced and choreographed and costume designed {not to mention mums and grandmas who must have had a hand in the dressing} and the audience who were most appreciative.

I am sure the children will remember the evening - I know I will.
