Two
keen volunteers from Freda Gardham School in Rye were rewarded
for their time and efforts, at an award ceremony at Claverham Community
College last week. The evening marked the passing of 2005 'The
Year of the Volunteer'.
Andy Stoodley
regularly ran an after school football club for children in Year
5 and 6. He has continued with the club this year despite no
longer having a child of his own at the school. Andy also gave
up his
time
to spend a few days with the Year 6 children on their residential
trip to the Pestalozzi Village in Seddlescombe last summer.
Ellis is one
of the schools Primary Sports Leaders who regularly runs his
playtime and lunchtime game for other pupils in the school. He
is also responsible for setting out and collecting in additional
playtime and lunchtime equipment for the rest of the school.
He carries out these tasks without fail, EVERY day, with a huge
smile on his face. Ellis was the youngest person to receive a
volunteers' award on the night!
Well done,
and a thank you to you both.
