'Creative Partnerships' - children and artists working together

Creative Partnerships provides young people in 36 areas across England with the opportunity to put creativity at the heart of their learning and to take part in cultural activities of the highest quality.

Creative Partnerships, Hastings and East Sussex works with schools to forge partnerships with creative organisations and individuals that could make a difference. An initial 20 schools are involved from under fives to secondary age, in Hailsham, Eastbourn, Bexhill, Hastings and Rye.

Schools and their creative partners will explore how creative learning can animate classes, inspire teachers and connect with parents and wider communities.

Through projects, training programmes, events and activities we plan to reach schools and potential creative partners across the country and beyond, building their skills and knowledge to support young people's development now and in the future.

Poet and Artist

Don't feed the poets are a coalition of poets and performers working in East Sussex to promote poetry and literature. Justin Rhyme and Just John perform regularly in Hastings and Brighton and promote events throughout the year via comedy and cabaret nights.

Don't Feed the poets are excited about working with Creative Partnerships and Freda Gardham. We will be starting with a week of poetry led workshops with words flying around the school, there may be some acting, some mime, there will be lots of play and word fun.

We will be back later in the year to focus on one or two Years for intensive workshops and new adventures in poetry
