Ruby Class - Year 3 - 4 - "a day in the life of an evacuee"


The children of Year 3 and 4 { Opal and Ruby class } started their topic of WW 2 with a wonderful role - play day presented by Ian Roberts.

Waiting at the station for the steam train to take their children - who had to wear a name and destination tags, and also carry gas masks at all times - to safety.


It was explained to the children, that if there was a gas attack, they would have to wear their gas masks.

When the siren went, the children continued with their lessons in the Anderson Shelter


It was also explained to the children, that if they saw a sign like this, they must stay well away.

Village Policeman - Mr Roberts.
Mr Roberts arranged all the exhibits in the school hall, including the Anderson shelter. He also talked the children through "a day in the life of an evacuee".
